Quick Tip: Raggy T-Shirt Quilts Part 2

Quick Tip: Raggy T-Shirt Quilts Part 2

Once again, this weekend have proven to me that you never stop learning. I’ve made enough t-shirt quilts to think that I’ve got it down—and I was humbled this weekend.

While working on a t-shirt quilt for my former coworker, I came upon this block:

Now I precut all of my flannel and t-shirts a couple weeks ago. And then a lot of life happened and I didn’t get to assembling the quilt until Saturday of this weekend. Because I was trying to be prepared, I kind of messed up.

I didn’t remember if this jersey number was a 9 or a 6.

Oops.

I debated texting my former coworker to ask her.

I was embarrassed by my error.

In the end, I did text her and ask her if it was a 9 or a 6.

She couldn’t remember either and she was very nice about it. But we decided it was probably a 9.

The lesson learned here? If you’re working with any kind of number that could easily be flipped, take a picture of it. Take a picture of it the correct way, so you know when it comes time to assembling the quilt you know what you’re doing and don’t have to be embarrassed.

Happy Sew Monday!
