April Favorites
April flew by. It feels like just yesterday Mom and I were celebrating our birthday, yet here we are and it’s May first. The transition to the next month always makes me pause and think about the past 30 days.
Here are some of my favorites from this month, in no particular order:
1. Mumford and Sons. The concert was so fun—it was definitely a highlight. I don’t know when I’ll get to see them in concert again, but I hope it happens.
2. Owl Crate. For my birthday my family bought me a 3-month subscription. The April box was a ton of fun, and I’m looking forward to May’s box.
3. The Day the Mustache Took Over by: Alan Katz. I will talk more about this book on Tuesday, but I feel like it deserves to be on my favorites list. This book is whimsical and has a good theme without being overwhelming. I love it.
4. Stepping outside my comfort zone. This month I did a lot of things that were outside of the box for me. I was a vendor at a convention. I said yes to social events that I would normally shy away from. And I had fun. A lot of fun.
5. The Voice. Before this year, I had never watched The Voice. We don’t have channels on our TV, so we can’t watch live shows—we watch a day later or in bits on YouTube. This year, I know a girl who is competing. Last week Mom and I got to watch her at a local theater. It’s so incredible to watch someone you know perform on a national platform and do so well. Hannah is an incredible person, and it’s refreshing to see someone so kind and collected represent Nebraska.
April had a lot of highlights for me—there are probably things that should be on the list that I missed. I can’t wait to see what stands out in May!
